DON BOSCO CHINTHANALOKA PHILO WEEK
Indeed it is pleasant to recall 15th April, the inauguration day of the Annual Philo Week Fete. The inaugural speech and opening prayer by Rev. Fr. Rector gracefully opened the event. During the Philo Week, Philosophical themes exhibition occupied several spaces of the campus. They were creative and thought provoking exhibitions on evolution, ancient Greece, planetary systems and architecture. Evenings were coloured by research papers presented by the final year students. Some of the comprehensive themes were: life after death, justice, common good, service, moral acts and human pleasure. The Philo Quiz competition brought in a warrior effect among the participant teams named Duc in Altum, Dasein and Ex Nihilo. All the students participated with great enthusiasm and health competition brining in fun and knowledge. The final day of the Fete was the 21st April with an active Philo-Nite programme. The Philo Nite was essentially based on the Philo Quiz. Rev. Fr. Abraham Savarimuthu SDB, the Dean of studies came up with latest tech computerised quiz master programmes which illumined the minds of all the participants. The Nite came to an end with inspiring talks given by distinguished guests and invites Rev. Fr. Reginold Fernando SDB, the Vice Provincial of Sri Lanka and Rev. Fr. Dixon Fernando SDB, the visiting lecturer. A heartfelt thank goes undoubtedly to Fr. Abraham for his creative and innovative approach realizing this annual event.
