Don Bosco Chinthanaloka inaugurated the new Academic Year 2017-18 on 01st of September 2017. Rev. Fr. Thomas Ellicherail SDB, the Rector of Don Bosco Chinthanloka gave a warm welcome to all. The inauguration ceremony was initiated with the solemn Holy Eucharist of the Holy Spirit presided over by Rev. Fr. Reginold Fernando SDB, the Vice Provincial of Don Bosco Society Sri Lanka. After the Holy Eucharist the inaugural academic act was graced by the distinguished guests, the clergy of the deanery, the professors, the local authorities and the friends of Chinthanaloka. Rev. Fr. Prageeth Chamara Perera, the dean of the under graduate faculty of the Aquinas College of Higher Education Colombo was the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Susith Milroy SDB, the Principal of Don Bosco Chinthanaloka, presented the academic report 2016-17. Rev. Fr. Prageeth Chamara Perera delivered the Lectio Brevis on “How philosophy and psychology are interconnected in the mission of the priest”. The occasion was coloured by the angelic voices of the students of Chinthanaloka presenting Ave Maria of Franz Schubert. The distribution of provisional Diplomas granted by the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) Rome and the certificates of the Cambridge English First (B1 and B2) to the successful outgoing students took place in the hands of the Chief Guest and the Vice Provincial. Rev. Fr. Abraham Savarimuththu SDB, the Dean and the Chief Editor of Chinthanaloka Journal of Philosophy and Education presented the new issue (September 2017) to the Principal and to the Vice Provincial. In this new Academic Year 2017-18, let us make our own the Chinthanaloka motto: Domine ut videam. Let us wish each other a fruitful New Year 2017-18. Let our hearts and minds echo deeply the yearning of our soul to see God and His creation in the light of His Holy Spirit.
